As a resident of Boston, I’ve gotten used to seeing food trucks everywhere. But as a former student on a tight budget, I always had to brown-bag it. I never got to enjoy the food truck experience firsthand. All that changed, though, when I joined the What The Trucks team. In the past few weeks I’ve gotten to meet and speak with lots of friendly food artists/enthusiasts (that is, when customers weren’t surrounding the trucks like excited puppies). When I asked the guys from Rami’s, a kosher food truck, to pose for a photo, they jumped at the chance — and then served me the most beautiful falafel pita I’ve ever seen. And the vegan food truck, Taco Party, patiently answered all my questions about their meat alternative menu while I munched on one of their specialties, a sweet potato taco (which I STRONGLY recommend, by the way. You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy their delicious food).
Long story short, the food truck community — both truck owners and customers — are awesome. And their food is fabulous. If you haven’t checked them out yet, this is a great time to do it. Tell them the girl from What the Trucks sent you!
