It’s been a while since I’ve checked in. I apologize if you’ve missed my selfies with my food truck homies, but I have in fact moved. Where, you ask? Only the FOOD CART CAPITAL OF THE COUNTRY. That’s right, people — I am in Portland, Oregon.
Portland’s street food scene is nothing short of legendary, with pods — groups of carts or tiny kitchens in parked trailers – all over the city offering almost any cuisine you desire. Unlike Boston, they don’t have trucks here, and there is no actual “mobility” to these carts. They also tend to be open late. Which is fine with me. In fact, the other night I was out downtown and felt my tummy grumbling. So what did I do? Ran across the street at midnight and got a couple of tacos, of course. Ten minutes later, I was back enjoying drinks with my friends.
Yes, I think I’m going to like it here. Please stay tuned — more What the Trucks street food selfies are on the way!
